As a former fork lift driver, I love this.

By remarkable coincidence, one of my younger brothers built a sorting robot for IEEE competition with multi-direction wheels of that kind - and the job was to pick up (theoretical) warehouse items.

Mecanum wheel! Needs a really smooth surface and 4 hubs that can be driven independently of each other. Always fun to watch.

The modern folklifts have all kinds of cheats.
The first time I saw the ones that shift the forks side to side, I thought “That’s too easy!”. Back when I drove a lift, if you didn’t line it up right, you backed up and tried again. Now you kids get off my lawn!
